They dissolve the greasy film of a fingerprint; the rest of the formula sits as a slip layer between towel and paint. The approval covers metallic, solid, nano and more scratch-resistant clear coats as well as gloss wraps; matte paints and matte wraps don't appear there, which makes sense for a product that builds gloss.
