COLOURLOCK Wax Slip is the specialist additive for COLOURLOCK Top Coats when you want a waxy, slightly grippy and naturally matte surface. Plenty of modern automotive, furniture and interior leathers have exactly that subtle, waxy-grippy feel that makes a repair look genuinely original. Wax Slip tweaks the surface energy of the Top Coat, so the finish never feels slick or glossy — it feels satisfyingly full, natural and high-end.

Wax Slip is built on fine, structure-forming wax additives that stay embedded in the top layer as the Top Coat dries. That gives you a grippy-matte, slightly waxy surface, the kind you get on modern matte leathers. The additives change the micro-structure of the coating without touching its opacity. The leather looks less slick, feels fuller and reflects light more naturally. On repairs to steering wheels, seat cushions, armrests or furniture panels it lets you build an extremely authentic OEM finish.

Mixing, application & best practice for an authentic feel

Wax Slip goes straight into the COLOURLOCK Top Coat. How much you add sets the level of waxy grip: a little gives a subtle feel, more builds a clearer, fuller grip. Once it's mixed in well, you lay the modified Top Coat down as usual with a spray gun, airbrush or sponge. Paired with Duller (for matte), Soft Slip (for softer) or Crosslinker CD (for durability), you can dial the final finish in to match the original leather exactly. Lay it down evenly so the feel stays consistent across the whole panel.

Results, where to use it & how it differs from Soft Slip / Duller

Once it's dry you get a slightly grippy, waxy surface that feels genuinely natural and high-end. Wax Slip is ideal for matte automotive leather, interior zones, furniture, bags and any leather with a “waxy OEM finish”.
